He began his M.S. degree program in 2011 after graduating from Iowa State University with a B.S in Biology. His current research, under Dr. Matthew O'Neal, is focused on the effects of surrounding landscape diversity and habitat composition on the abundance of Japanese beetles (Popillia japonica Newman) and stink bug species in soybeans as well as the evaluation of current sampling tools for these insects. Throughout the course of this project he also monitored for the presence of the invasive brown marmorated stink bug in Iowa.
